Angelina Jolie Shooting New Movie in Queensland and NSW

As reported recently in The Sydney Morning Herald, Angelina Jolie will shoot her new block-buster movie ‘Unbroken’ in parts of both Queensland and New South Wales.

The Queensland and NSW governments are heralding the coup for their respective states as a huge boost for their economies, tourism and jobs. Jolie plans to shoot ‘Unbroken’ in various Queensland locations, including Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast and in Sydney and several locations in regional NSW.

The film is based on the best-selling book about the life of Louis Zamperini, who survived a Japanese prisoner of war camp and being lost at sea on a raft for 47 days.

It is Angelina Jolie’s second directing project and she was attracted to Queensland largely because of the good locations and excellent facilities at Village Roadshow, which include the largest water tank in the southern hemisphere.

The win for NSW comes on the heels of other recent large-scale productions, including The Wolverine and The Great Gatsby.
