10 Family Restaurants on the Gold Coast Where Kids Eat Free

Visiting the Gold Coast for a family holiday? The Gold Coast is famous for its attractions, theme parks and beaches, as well as dining out. There are so many things to see and do that treating your little ones to delicious and free food from one of the many restaurants in the area will give them the boost of energy they need – and, of course, it’s a little kinder on your wallet!

But wait, there’s more! Some of these restaurants have games rooms, playgrounds, arts and crafts, and other activities that’ll be sure to keep your kids entertained when you’re dining out. So no matter when you decide to visit, here are the top 10 restaurants on the Gold Coast where your kids can have fun and eat for free.

1. Alleys Restaurant

Award-winning Alleys Restaurant can be found at Currumbin RSL, along with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Its a la carte menu is a local attraction, which includes traditional chicken parmigiana and the slow twice-cooked pork belly. It’s open every day from 11.30am until late with lunch and dinner menus filled with home grown, local fresh produce and sumptuous meals.

Kids can eat free on Wednesday nights (except on public holidays). You get one free kid’s meal with every adult main meal that you order from the a la carte menu. The kids menu has six different meals that your children will enjoy, like tempura chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, spaghetti Bolognese, beer battered fish, kids steak, and Alleys kiddy combo.

2. Benowa Tavern

Benowa Tavern is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy a meal of char grilled steak, a Benowa burger or a salad while overlooking the canals of the Gold Coast. This family-friendly tavern in Benowa has indoor and outdoor playgrounds for your little ones to enjoy. It even has a PlayStation room where your kids can settle down after eating their meal.

Kids eat free every Sunday and Monday night from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, when you buy one adult main meal per child. For kids under 12, the meals include fish and chips, chicken nuggets and chips, grilled chicken pieces with veggies, pizza and chips, fettucine with chicken and bacon, and a kid’s value meal. For children under 15, the options are chicken, steak or cheeseburger with chips.

3. Dog and Parrot Tavern

Families love the Dog and Parrot Tavern in Robina with its affordable menu and host of kids’ activities, such as colouring in and weekly face painting to keep the little ones entertained. Plus, the tavern has a shaded outdoor play area as well as an indoor games room with PlayStation.

Kids can eat free on Saturday nights with the purchase of one adult meal per child. The kids menu has five different meals, such as steak and chips with salad, chicken nuggets and chips with salad, cheeseburgers, fish and chips, and grilled barramundi with chips or veggies.

4. Food Fantasy

Food Fantasy is located in Jupiter’s Casino at Broadbeach and is an all-encompassing dining option. For hungry and fussy eaters, it’s the perfect place to go to as there will be plenty of meal options to choose from and they’re of the best quality, too.

If your kids are under 5 years of age (maximum of 2 kids per family), they get to eat free for breakfast, lunch and dinner with each paying adult. Kids aged 5-12 can also eat for half price. The menu includes a prawntastic buffet from Sunday to Thursday and a seafood spectacular buffet from Friday to Saturday.

5. Hog’s Breath Café

Hog’s Breath Café in Broadbeach serves delicious food with its signature curly fries that both you and your kids will enjoy. The café also provides a range of activities for children so they won’t get bored, and once you’re done eating, you can head to the beach across the road to swim and build sandcastles.

Kids can eat free on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as every day between 5pm to 6pm when you buy a main adult meal over $20. For kids 12 and under, the meals include steak, battered fish, cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets with chips or salad, as well as pasta, veggies, ice cream, and soft drinks or juice.

6.Lone Star Tavern

Lone Star Tavern is located in Mermaid Waters and has a great family atmosphere. If you love steak and chips, then it’s the place to go! Not only does it boast a variety of Graziers steaks, but also an outdoor and indoor playground with PlayStation that your kids will love.

Kids eat free on Tuesday Movie Nights when you buy one adult meal. The kids menu includes four meals, such as chicken nuggets and chips, spaghetti Bolognese, fish and chips, and tacos. For the juniors, the meal options are chicken, battered fish or rib-fillet steak with chips and salad.

7.Montezuma’s

Montezuma’s is a Mexican family restaurant and can be found in Surfers Paradise. You can try signature burritos and tortillas, or let your kids make their own dinner with fajitas. Every night there are free arts and crafts activities your kids can partake in, such as colouring in, making ponchos or maracas, and counting in Spanish.

Your kids can eat for free on Terror Tuesdays with every main adult meal that you purchase. For kids 12 years and under, there are a variety of meals to choose from, including tacos, nachos, el toro, baby bondigas, ninos enchilada, amigo burrito, taquitos, as well as desserts!

8. Outback Jacks

At Mermaid Beach, you’ll find Outback Jacks, a fantastic restaurant for family dining. It has famous steaks, a walk-in wine room, 70s style booth seating, as well as a kids games room and free colouring in books for children that your kids will enjoy.

Kids under 12 get to eat a free dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm. You receive one free kid’s meal per paid adult main meal. And all kids’ meals include a free ice cream! The meals include sausages, pizza, fish, chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, steak or pork, spaghetti Bolognese, veggies, and soft drink or juice.

9. Southport Sharks – Frenzy Food Court

Southport Sharks is located in Southport and is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, as well as for breakfast on the weekends. The club’s Wobbygongs Kids Fun Zone is a great place to take the kids with plenty of things to do, including a rock climbing wall, mini basketball court, and PlayStations. 

The Southport Shark’s Frenzy Food Court has a delicious buffet, and kids 12 years and under can eat free from the buffet every Monday night with each full paying adult. With a range of treats to sample, it’s a great place to satisfy the kid’s hunger after a big day of activities.

10. Toscani’s Café, Bar & Restaurant

Toscani’s Café, Bar & Restaurant specialises in authentic Italian cuisine. There’s an outdoor seating area that’s next to an outdoor playground where your little ones can play after they’ve eaten their fill. You can find Toscani’s in Surfers Paradise, Helensvale and Robina.

If you’ve got kids who are 12 years or under, they’re able to eat free on Sunday to Wednesday nights when you purchase an adult meal over $20. This excludes public holidays. For breakfast, your kids can eat bacon, eggs and toast, or pancakes with ice cream. As for lunch and dinner, there’s spaghetti Bolognese, cheeseburgers or chicken nuggets with chips, ham and cheese pizza, and a free ice cream dessert.
