Pound the Turf at the Gold Coast

Participants in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon in July were spoilt for choice of things to do once their heartbeat returned to normal after the race.

The Marathon is a packed weekend of races and events that attracted many pavement-pounders to Australia’s favourite seaside playground.

Here are just two of the top things to do on the Coast:

  • Springbrook National Park –  Not only does the Gold Coast have sun, sea and sand, it has rainforests with magnificent trees, pristine waterfalls, and truly stunning views. The World Heritage-listed park is also home to caves, and is famous for its glow worm grotto that lights up the darkness.
  • Warner Bros Movie World – This movie-themed attraction is a great day out for kids – and, if we’re honest, it’s also a great day out for adults. This theme park is renowned for its rides, from the hair-raising kind to gentle twirls for littlies. That is not the limit, though. The park also stages events and offers a whole range of other enticements.

Beyond Movie World, it’s great to get out and see the Gold Coast’s other attractions. Take to the Nerang River, or visit Mt Warning, or just feast yourself at the wonderful assortment of cafes and restaurants.
