19 of the Best Gold Coast Golf Courses

With more tourist activities, attractions and golf courses than anywhere else in Australia, it is no wonder the Gold Coast draws 10 million visitors annually.

Website Golf Australia recently provided its pick of 19 of the region’s best fairways.

The Palms course at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club should be on any golfer’s list, especially since Ross Watson re-designed it in 2011. Its sister course, the Pines, is the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in Australia.

A player-friendly experience makes the RACV Royal Pines Resort the most famous of the Japanese designer Tomojiro Maruyama’s many fairways in Asia, the US and Australia. Royal Pines is soon to be the home of the Australian PGA championship.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed Lakelands course is one the Coast’s most revered courses. It is flat like most Gold Coast courses, but is also incredibly challenging. Its Bermuda Tifdwarf is always in top-notch shape.

Among the other greens to make Golf Australia’s list were The Grand, Surfers Paradise Golf Club, and the many water hazards at Palmer Colonial Golf Club, owned by mining magnate Clive Palmer.
