Surfers Paradise Top Eating Spots

The Gold Coast is well known as being home to some of Australia’s best restaurants, and within the greater Gold Coast area, nowhere has more incredible eating options than Surfers Paradise. The following is a brief look at a few of the best places to enjoy a meal if you are lucky enough to find yourself in Surfers Paradise, so plan your Surfers Paradise accommodation to be close by at least one of these places.

Chiangmai Thai Restaurant

There are three of these delicious establishments in the Gold Coast area, with the one in Surfers Paradise located in the Crown Towers Resort. Chiangmai Thai provides an authentic Thai experience, including hand-carved furniture and Thai statues scattered around the ornately decorated restaurants, and the food is absolutely divine.

Chiangmai also holds a number of titles to back up the hype, including Informal Dining Restaurant of the Year, Best Themed Restaurant and Best Thai Restaurant in Queensland. If you haven’t tried Chiangmai Thai, make sure you do on your next Gold Coast visit.

La Rustica

Self described as an Italian and Turkish restaurant and pizzeria, this wonderful place is a favourite of locals and tourists alike, and has become famous for its northern Italian flavour just as much as its mouth-watering Turkish halal meats. For 30 years this family-friendly restaurant has been offering a welcoming, cosy atmosphere in which to enjoy some incredible food, and for those on a budget La Rustica offers tremendous value for money — especially with their pizzas.

Benihana

If you are looking to get your teeth stuck into a delicious, well-cooked steak, or even try some tasty teppanyaki, this Japanese steakhouse will have you well covered. Located in the Marriott Resort in Surfers Paradise, Benihana is the considered the largest teppanyaki restaurant in Australia, and is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two, a family meal or even to celebrate a wedding or any other large special occasion.

Montezuma’s

The winner of the award for Best Ethnic Restaurant, as well as Best Mexican Restaurant on the Gold Coast, Montezuma’s is the place to be if you love authentic Mexican food. For over 20 years, this Aztec-themed restaurant has been keeping locals and tourists alike more than satisfied. Montezuma’s is a fantastic choice for those looking for good food without a big price, and the lively atmosphere is hard to beat.

Delhi Darbar

For those looking for some tasty Indian food, Delhi Darbar will not disappoint, as this authentic, family-run establishment has been treating Surfers Paradise to Northern Indian delights for over 15 years. Most dishes are mild to medium heat at most and there is a good mix of prices on the menu, making this a good dining choice for almost any budget. They even offer takeout, so you can enjoy your food on the beach or back at your Surfers Paradise holiday apartments if you prefer.

Waves Restaurant

The Gold Coast has some of the freshest and best seafood in Australia, and one of the best places to enjoy it is at this modern establishment located in The Watermark Hotel. Open for breakfast and dinner, Waves offers a delightful mix of Mediterranean, Asian and Indian styles and flavours, and whether you try the prawns or the rock oysters, the seafood here is to die for.
