For a kid-friendly holiday, there’s nothing better then a destination filled with temperate weather, lots of sun-shine, outdoors activities and opportunities for getting close to wildlife. Surfers Paradise is temperate pretty much all year around, with great outdoor activities for kids and the best theme parks in Australia, making it a wonderful sun and beach destination for the family. The Great Barrier Reef

Located 350 km away from Melbourne in North Eastern Victoria, Falls Creek is a popular ski resort that’s beginner/intermediate skier-friendly. The resort is surrounded by a huge national park that can be used for hiking, trekking and biking.

Thredbo

Thredbo in New South Wales is another great skiing destination for kids and adults. Located in the Snowy Mountains near the Victorian border, Thredbo is approximate 500 km from Sydney CBD. There’s terrain to suit any category of skier – from beginners, intermediates, to advanced skiers. There’s also plenty of vertical terrain for keen snowboarders, as well as instructors who can guide you through it all. Thredbo is accessible by coach or car from Sydney.

Exciting City Holidays

If you prefer somewhere urban for you next city holiday, try any of the capital cities.

Sydney

Kids will love Taronga Zoo, located on the North Shore of the city, after a cruise in the Harbour and a visit to the Sydney Aquarium. Spend at day at any of the city’s many beaches or the famous museums such as Hyde Park Barracks Museum, the Australian Museum, and the Powerhouse Museum. Don’t forget to do a day trip to the Blue Mountains.

Melbourne

The Melbourne Aquarium is a very popular destination for children and adults. The Rialto and Eureka observation decks will give you a good view of the whole city. Take a tram ride around the city, then over to Queen Victoria Market for a coffee and a good bargain. Head over to Melbourne Zoo for a day out, or head to outer Melbourne for a ride on the Puffing Billy in the Dandenong Ranges. The Healesville and Werribee Wildlife Parks offer opportunities for getting close to animals, as does the Penguin Parade down in Philip Island.
