Doug Jennings Park at Main Beach

In a recent review on Gold Coast Kids, Doug Jennings Park was put under the spotlight and here’s what they found.

It has plenty of great facilities, including a boat ramp, picnic tables, a sports field, toilets and a tap and there’s a kiosk at the back of the park selling takeaways, cool drinks and ice creams. The park also has a dog-friendly policy (on the leash in the park and off the leash down on the beach).

The parks best feature, for kids under five, is the big grassy area to play on and for kids over five (in fact, kids of all ages), the fishing and water sports are the main attractions.

Doug Jennings Park has plenty of free parking around the park, near the kiosk and at the boat ramp and while there are no walking tracks or bike trails, the road to the park does have a designated cycle lane, making it safe for family cycling visits.
